HELLO, FAMILY
 

So crazy how small of a world it can be. Nick, training a buddy from high school in Jake Nilson, and Eric getting his call to Rome, Italy to be with Jake Stout. haha...... Someone better come to Tampico or I'm gonna feel left out. What's the low down on the house? Are you gonna sell it or what?

This week was a really good week. We've really focused more this week on finding new people to teach. And our work paid off! This week we found 9 new investigators!! There are a few way solid ones. We'll be going back to visit them this week and see where they are. But the work is definitely progressing here in this area. From where it was, to where it is now, is incredible. My first 6 weeks with Elder Marin, we found 1 new investigator. ONE. and in my almost 12 weeks with Elder Delgado, we've found 35. Pretty amazing to see the amount things can change with a little change of attitude and faith and work methods.

 

We've been very blessed to see many wonderful things happen in this area. Irma continues to progress!! She's doin so good and tryin soo hard to stay on the right path. We had to change her baptismal date... it was gonna be for March 1, or this Saturday, but our leaders made us change it to March 8th cuz she missed going to church a Sunday a couple weeks back. Which means that I most likely won't be here when she gets baptized.... becuase the transfers come this Sunday, and most likely they're gonna change me out of this area because I've already been here for 4 months. Kinda a bummer.... but nothing is for sure yet. Who knows, they could leave me here. But if they change me, It'll be sad for sure not to be able to see her get baptized... but, however, I know that I, alongside my companion, played a big role in introducing her to the gospel and helping her along this path. For that, I'll forever be grateful. But we'll see what happens.

 

This week we had a couple of really powerful lessons. We found this one less-active guy that stopped going to church 20 years ago named Xicotancatl. Ya, if you don't speak Spanish, good luck pronouncing that one :) It sounds like Heekotankalk. haha. But hes a stud... and in the visit we had with him, I felt so powerful in bearing my testimony to him about the truthfulness of this gospel. After I had finished bearing my testimony to him he told me, "Elder, in these last couple of minutes, I've felt something open in my heart. I don't know what it is, but my heart has been touched, and I'll definitely pray to see if this really is the truth." Experiences like that don't happen all that often... but when they do, they're things that you'll never forget. And I know that I'll never forget the spirit that we all felt in that moment. It was undeniable. Things like this don't happen anywhere else besides the mission.... I'm so thankful for this opportunity.
 

Sounds like things are goin well back home. Miss you all each and every day but I love you all so much. Hope you all have a fantastic week :)

WHAT UP EVERYBODY!!!
 

First things first... it makes me proud to say that I still have a dad that's got a little game left in him. Pullin out the stops on Valentine's Day, Dad's still got it ;) hahaha.
 

By the way, we switched P-day to today because we went to the temple again! That's the one good thing about being in the city is that we have the temple pretty close. But, wow, that's so awesome to hear about Lindsey!! Congratulations :)) Keep me updated on her situation. She still goin strong with that guy? Has Cameron left the basement since golf season got over? Just a few things that have been on my mind. haha.
 

Things are goin a ok down here in Mexico. This week we had interviews with President Jordan. I just gotta say that I love that man. He's got SO much on his plate but his genuine love for each of us missionaries... couldn't have asked for a better mission president. But this week was alright.... a little slow, but not too bad, nonetheless. Irma keeps progressing!! It looks like she's gonna get baptized in about a week and a half!! She's soo awesome and so good about keeping her commitments. Last night we had a family home evening in the ward, (I wasn't there, I was on divisions with one of the zone leaders in another area), but apparently she got up and bore her testimony in front of everyone. Even though it was so simple, everyone was so impressed with how strong of a testimony she already has. It makes me so happy to see someone progress like that and accept the gospel. The joy that you receive when someone receives the gospel according to your efforts is something that you just can't beat. Mom, when I get home you'll have to come down here to Mexico to meet Irma. You would love her. She reminds me a lot of you, the best woman I've ever met :)
 

I hope you all know how much I appreciate all of your love and support. I hope you know that your son is doin good down in Mehico. Putting on a little weight, but doin good nonetheless. Love you all ooodles. Keep on keepin on.

Hey, Family!!
 

Glad to hear everyone is doin well!! Except for the sad news about Unce Sheryl... I still remember to this day how he would always confuse mine and Cameron`s names on purpose just to try and be funny. In all honesty I didn't know him very much but it still makes me sad to hear about his condition. I wish them the best!
 

Dad, I think I understand you a little bit when you have to get up in sacrament and direct a meeting. (Notice I said a little bit haha.) Because now that I'm district leader, every week I have to get up and conduct our district meeting. Which sucks. Haha but it's alright.... It would be much more comfortable if I could do it in English but I'm comfortable with Spanish, too. So it's no big deal for me now but when I was first put as district leader, man was I nervous! haha. You'll have to let me know who gets put in as the new Stake President. For basically as long as I can remember President Nilson has been Stake President. It'll be weird for me, that's for sure, to see a new one when I get home! But I love President Nilson. Send him my best, please.
 

This week was pretty sweet!! The work's goin good.... and me and my companion are finally tight and having a good time. We're starting to find new people and continuing to progress! Our investigator, Irma, as well as her 8 year old son who I guess you could consider an investigator, weren't able to come to church this week because she went to visit her family in Veracruz (another state in Mexico). But she is progressing really well! The other day we were teaching her the law of chastity and the word of wisdom. We finished teaching her about coffee and tea and stuff and she goes, "Look, I can drop coffee like a snap, but I can't promise you anything about Victor (her 8 year old son) cuz he looooooves coffee!" Hahah we had a good laugh about it, but I'm tellin ya she's golden. We just gotta get her to come to church! Our other investigators are alright, Faustina and Sabina are falling backwards... we weren't able to teach them this last week for some reason and they didn't come to church either. We'll see with them.... but who knows. But things are pretty normal here.... alllllll gooood. haha. Lovin every minute of the mission.

Hey Hey Family!!

 

How goes it?? Dad got put in the bishopric again--no way!!! Haha that's so smooth. Best of luck to ya Dad :) You'll do great. But I can't help but laugh when I think of Dave Beck, Garret Seely, and Dad all in the Bishopric. That's a Bishopric of all-stars right there!! Haha let's hope that they don't mess around too much and that they can get some stuff done ;) haha. Mom, thanks so much for the great letters every week. I feel bad becuase sometimes I don't write the best letters home but I can always count on Mom to give me a great letter every week :) Thanks Mom, love ya.

 

This week was alright! Good things are happening in the area. This week, President Jordan came to our zone and told us all about the plan that the area seventy have for Mexico. The plan this year is all focused in BAPTISMS!! But not just baptsims, baptisms of CONVERTS. But I can say that since that meeting on Tuesday, we've seen a great deal of the hand of the Lord in helping us find new people to teach and helping us progress with our investigators (I give a lot of credit to Mom and her prayers as well).

 

But Irma is doing good... she is soo smart and understands everything right off the bat. She wasn't able to come to church yesterday because her son got really sick the night before and she had to stay home and tend to him. But she's progressing quite nicely towards her baptismal date on Feb. 22nd :) We hope and pray that all continues to go well with her.

 

Faustina and Sabina are doing well too... They're super aprehensive in setting a baptismal date but they are progressing. Yesterday, they came to church but they showed up in the middle of the sacrament. They could see through the little window on the door and saw that we were "busy" and so they left. Kinda funny though. But we are doin good... and finding new people to teach every week. We're finally progressing a little out here :)

I hope everything's well back home. I really miss you guys, and I try not to think about back home too much. But it helps me get through each and every day all the love and support that I receive from back home. So thank you all... Love you all soo much. Have a fantastic week!! :)

What up FAM!!!

First off..... I'm glad to hear everyone's doing well. As usual. Have I ever gone an email without saying that? Probably not.... but seriously..... I'm glad. Haha. And Mom, ya the time is going by really fast. Thanks for reminding me how much time I've been out ;) Nah but it's goin by pretty fast, and I'm loving every bit of it.

This week was alright.... nothing too special for us. We're finally starting to find new people to teach!! WOOO!! haha we found like 5 new investigators this week (which is a lot for us... not kidding) and none of them are like woww golden but they're pretty good and we'll keep working with them. But we've been teaching this lady and her friend these last few weeks, and they're finally starting to progress! Their names are Sabina and Faustina. They're like 45 years old and are Catholic. They're finally starting to understand the stuff that we're teaching them and making some progress as well :) even though they havn't come to church yet... but they're getting there. Irma is doin good as well... she went to church yesterday and continues to progress towards her baptism :)) Things are lookin up for us a little bit here... Finally :)

I honestly don't have much to say this week... My companion and I get along pretty good. I'll be with him for another 6 weeks.  Love you all, sorry for the crappy letter this week.... next week I'll have more to say I promise :) Have a grrrrreat week :)

HEYYYYY FAM

So nice to hear that everyone is doin well. It makes me so happy to see that you guys are all receiving blessings from my service... I don't mean to say that in a boasting way, but I think we can all see, and our testimonies have all grown, that this really is the Lord's work and that this is what every worthy and of-age young man should be doing. I love my mission... It's super hard at times, and even though I don't have tons of time in the mission, I wouldn't trade this experience for anything.

This week was a good week! Pretty normal.... the area is getting better. We're starting to see improvements. Little by little, but we're getting there. I mentioned a little about our "golden investigator" Irma last week, right? This week we've really seen with her the truth of the scripture in Ether 12:6 that "you receive no testimony until after the trial of your faith." And gooooood night is her faith being tried! Haha. First off, early in the week we had an appointment with her. We went, but she couldn't receive us because her father-in-law, who she lives with, is Catholic and won't let her talk to us in his house. So we have to find a new place to teach her. The next day, we went by to visit her on our way to a different appointment, and she was in tears. She told us that her daughter had packed her bags and ran away and that she had no idea where she went. And THEN, the NEXT day... we passed by to visit her again on our way to another appointment. And we found out that her 8 year old son had been hit by a car that evening. Luckily, her son ended up not having any major injuries, but,man, talk about a trial of faith!! My testimony has grown immensely as she continues to tell us how she knows that whatever happens, if she keeps her trust in God, everything will be alright. Such a simple testimony, but with such profound significance to her, and to anyone who truly believes that. She's such a great example to me and I'm so glad that the Lord put her in our path and has given us the oppurtunity to teach her.

The truck looks way sweet Dad!! What did you do with the old one? And is there really that much snow at our house right now?? You have no idea how much I miss the snow. What's the news with Lindsey and her boyfriend/grad school? How's lone peak basketball doin? Who's going to the Super Bowl? Whats goin on with BYU basketball? Oh and p.s. the mission that Alena Neves is going to is the same mission as Riley. Ayways, I await those answers patiently... This is stuff I NEED to know.

Hi, everyone :)

Dad: you need to send me a pic of your new truck!! I gotta see it. My whole life you were runnin around with the old white ford and now that I'm on my mission you decided to change it.... at least send me a pic of what the new Webb truck legacy looks like.

Alright now that I've got the important stuff out of the way..... how's everyone doin?? Sounds like everything is goin well. Things are goin well out here, as well! This week was a little less stressful with a little more success :) not tons... but we're gettin there. We're starting to find new people to teach, new investigators more than anything. Some of them are good, some of them are ok, and others are GOLDEN. My testimony has really grown this week that the Lord really is preparing people to receive the gospel. I've always heard that, but up until this week it's never really hit me on a personal level.

 

One of our investigators, Irma, not sure if I've mentioned her or not, is so solid. We found her through a reference from a member and from the get go she's been on board. She's such a sweet mother of 2 who has really been searching for something better in her life but hasn't been able to find it. And to see her eyes light up when we bear our testimonies of this gospel, is something that you just can't beat. Our experience with her hasn't been any sort of jaw dropping angel manifestations... but everytime we've been with her, it's such a great experience because we have been filled with the sweet spirit of the Lord and I know that she is ready to receive this gospel and it brings me such joy to see the gospel affecting her life in the way its intended to.

Irma is basically our little beacon of light in this area haha because aside from her, we don't have anybody progressing like she is. But I know they're out there.... just gotta go look for em. And I know that they're out there back home in Utah as well. Just gotta go lookin for them. Our president told us some interestingly cliche the other day, but it made me think. He said, "You're never gonna find anybody if your not searching for them." I testify that that's true... as we've strived to look for more people, we've been able to find more people. I know the Lord is preparing people in every part of the world. All there is to do is look for them. That simple.
